Welcome to the Market @OCMAO

We are still under construction and trying to work out the kinks and get all the systems  in place to address your needs, so please bear with us during this early shake down period.  But here is where you can order and pay for the items we typically sell in the market, as well as some new things that you may not necessarily associate with our store.

Of particular note and new to the Market is our offerings of fresh vegetables, fruits, and meats.  Because this is new to us, we are trying to figure out what you want, and how you want it, so your feed back is important to us.

But for right now, this is how things will work (at least until we establish better systems and procedures (and we are always working hard to make things better)):

When ordering fresh meats and vegetables, that we do not carry on a regular basis as part of our menu, you will need to place your order no later than 12 noon on Monday.  We will then place orders with our meat and vegetable suppliers on Monday for a Tuesday delivery.  Then we will pack all orders on Tuesday (a day when the kitchen is closed) for either a Tuesday or Wednesday pick up or delivery.  If we cannot obtain everything you have ordered, we will send you an email as soon as we can to notify you of any shortages.

If you need something that we do not have listed for sale, please send us a note and we will see if we can't obtain it.  For example, if you want butternut squash, but we don't list butternut squash, let us know.  We can probably obtain it from our Vegetable Wholesaler.  We have not listed everything they sell because of time and space limitations.   Although we have some flexibility when ordering vegetables (i.e. we can order small quantities) we do not necessarily have the same luxury when ordering meats and fish.  Generally, when we order meats, we must order by the case (usually about 40 lbs to a case).  As a result, we do not offer a wide variety of meats and fish, because you may want 2 lbs. of pork chops, but we get stuck with the remaining 38 lbs.  If, however, we find enough lovers of pork chops, we can then purchase 40 lbs and divide amongst all you pork lovers.  So again, let us know what you want.  The more we know, the better we can serve you.  BUT do not send us a laundry list of foods you eat and then expect us to have them available for you at all times.  Too often people have asked us to order or makes something special that they claim they would buy, and then we never see them again for months at a time.

We recently acquired a commercial food vacuum machine so we can vacuum pack meats, cheeses, vegetables, etc.  For some items we will be routinely vacuum packing these things, but if you want an item packed this way, let us know and we can vacuum pack it for an extra charge of $1.50 per pack.  it is a great way to extend the life of your product, and a great way to freeze an item.

You have to be over the age of 21 to order beer or wine, and if you are going to have it delivered to you, you have to have someone over the age of 21 to receive it.  There are no exceptions to this rule.  If you order beer and wine and ask that it be delivered, and there is no one home over the age of 21 to receive it, we will not leave it for you, and you risk the possibility of forfeiting the entire cost of your beer and/or wine order.  This is the law, and we are not going to risk our ABC license by selling it or leaving it with someone under the age of 21.

We have contracted with a local delivery service to deliver market items to your home.  The cost of delivery will be $3-5.00 per delivery plus 10% of the total cost of the items being delivered, plus whatever tip you wish to give the delivery person.  Please note, we make no money on delivery.  These are the charges that the delivery service charges us, and we are simply passing these charges on to you.  Of course there is no charge for picking up your order yourself from us.  We are still trying to figure out how to add shipping charges to an order, so bear with us while we work out those kinks.  But until we solve that problem, we will simply call you with those charges and ask you to make an additional charge for delivery.

Once an order is complete, we will call, text, or email you, and you will then have twenty-four hours to pick up your order, if the order contains fresh or frozen foods, and you will have 48 hours to pick up your order if it contains only dry, non perishable items.  If an order has not been picked up within that time, or if you have not contacted us to make other arrangements acceptable to us, we will consider the order paid for but abandoned.

We tried to structure the price of meats and vegetables in such a way that there is definition to what things will cost.  Unfortunately our system is not an exact science.  We cannot guarantee that the piece of salmon we cut will weigh precisely 8 oz.   If it is off by 1/2 an oz we will leave it at that, but if it varies by more than 1/2 an oz, then we will credit or debit you for the difference.  We have not yet figured out the best way to do this, but are working on it.  Also, if you buy large quantities:  say a case of wine or beer, or a whole filet of salmon, or 10 lbs of chicken, we will give you a discount.  Simply send us an email, let us know what you want, and we will give you our best price quote.
